A double dial Hebe that I acquired for my collection will go into restoration in the next few months. This clock is in horrible condition and it will be fun to watch it's transformation.
Anyone having a Hebe that has its original bottom, please contact me. I am in desperate need of some photos, templates and measurements of the bottom for this clock.

UNDER WAY

I really do not have the space here to do a photo by photo restoration. As you can tell by the first photo of the clock, which is when it is in the condition I received it, it's pretty rough. The bottom is completely gone, only two of the original rosettes exist, there are chunks of the case missing, the dial surrounds are broken or split and there are a pair of moldings missing. What a mess. I have never seen another one of these and that is why I jumped at purchasing this one. It's not the most attractive clock, matter of fact it boarders on ugly. But non the less, its a New Haven, an early version of their 30 day regulators, approx around 1890.
Photo two is while we are underway. What this photo does not show is that the clock has been completely knocked apart and reglued to this point. The new base box is assembled and installed in place. One of the original rosettes have been mailed out to have a cutter fabricated. I'll be able to cut all the necessary rosettes from my drill press and they will be an exact match to the originals.
Bob and his crew at Stoner Antiques anxiously await this clock's arrival. There he'll finish the woodworking that I do not have time for. After that, he will strip and refinish the clock. Bob works on other clocks of mine that never get posted here as a project. He recently refinished an oak "Austrian" for me that came out absolutely beautiful.
